Overpopulation's consequences

In this article, Global Overpopulation, Cara Swann explains the overpopulation that exists in the world. She makes an important reference to the contribution that childfree people have to this issue. She also talks about many reasons why it is happening nowadays, such as the high consumption of the population of many things, or the control that women are having with their fertility. This is because when the society gives her the opportunity to work she usually prefers not to have children and to make a contribution in the society. Another reason it happens is due to the incentives that the government is giving to some families. Finally she tells a little bit about her opinion related with overpopulation, and about the reality that we are living day by day.

People cannot be absent in this issue, because it is something that is happening in many countries in the world, and maybe, it could happen some day in your own country. There are some reasons why overpopulation could be affected, such as childfree people, the decision of women in controlling their fertility, and another one related with the religion or culture of each person.

People could take the decision not to have children because of many reasons such as the economy, because it requires a high cost to maintain a big family, or because they prefer to enjoy the life without children. It is an important contribution for the society, because if all people decide to do the same, the population will decrease quickly. So being a childfree person is an option that depends on the situation and decision of each one.

It is also an optional choice for women to take the decision in their life not have children, but in this case I think it is a little bit hard for women to take this decision. There are women who make the decision not to have children just because they prefer to work and be efficient when the society gives them the opportunity. But it could not be an option for some of these women; it could be the only alternative that they have in their life. It means that they have to choose between having children or a job. That is why their decision could be difficult, and the control of their fertility could affect the population. I think that not to have children is the easy way to avoid problems, so in my case for example, nowadays I think I would not take the decision not to have children.

Religion and culture are really important because this topic has so much influence on overpopulation. There are many religions and cultures around the world; some of them forbid, others permit whatever people want. It means that if a couple wants to have many children; they can do it, if it is not forbidden in their country, culture or religion. On the other hand, the opposite exists in some countries, people who have restrictions in their life. This kind of situation can influence in the overpopulation of the world. I am really happy living in a country that does not have this kind of restrictions, because I think it is not fair.

So in conclusion, there are many reasons to explain this phenomenon in the world; some exist around our life, but sometimes we do not stop to think about it.
